A trucking company is looking to expand in the Township of Bristol.

Ideal Transportation, which is based in the Township of Upper Southampton, is looking to build a truck yard, repair area and office on Clyde Waite Drive.

Lawyer Ed Murphy, who represented the company, appeared before Bristol Township Council last month and said Ideal Transportation aims to consolidate existing operations in Bristol Township, Upper Township Southampton and the borough of Morrisville on the site of Clyde Waite Drive.

The Clyde Waite Drive site consists of two plots that will be grouped together. It totals just under four acres and would include 50 truck parking spaces, 16 employee parking spaces and a 6,500 square foot building for offices and the repair area.

The site is the last undeveloped space in the Clyde Waite Drive Industrial Park, located between Lakeland Avenue and the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

The council was receptive to the company’s move to the site and Murphy said full development plans would be submitted to the township soon.

The goal is for construction to begin early next year, Murphy said.

“We look forward to growing and continuing to grow,” said the company’s attorney.

Murphy explained that Ideal Transportation has its eyes on a nearby property that has become dilapidated.

Ideal Transportation ships wholesale dry goods for Amazon, which operates several distribution centers in the region.
