STEYR®, a regional agricultural brand of CNH Industrial, received the 2022 Red Dot Design Award in the Design Concept category for its Konzept Hybrid Transmission – a diesel-electric hybrid drive system designed to power light-duty, high-powered tractors.
The STEYR Hybrid Drivetrain Konzept was entered in the Design Concept category, for design concepts and prototypes. As the winner of this category, the Hybrid Drivetrain Konzept will be featured in the next edition of the Red Dot Design Yearbook and will be featured in the winners area of the www.red-dot.org website. It follows the STEYR Terrus CVT tractor, which previously won the Red Dot Design Award in the Product Design category.
The Konzept hybrid drivetrain can provide fuel savings of 8% on average while delivering higher levels of performance in the field and on the road, delivering huge savings in efficiency that will benefit both tractor owners and the environment. Although still a concept study, it has many features that will improve future STEYR tractors.
