• Registration for the Great American Crossroads Celebration 5K sponsored by the Reed City Cross Country team is open. The cost is $35, $25 for K-12 students. Kids Dash is free. For more information, contact Rich Saladin at 231-912-6879 or by email at [email protected].

• The 2022 Great American Crossroads Celebration will take place Thursday, August 18 through Saturday, August 20 in downtown Reed City. The event will include a comedy night, parking lot party, grand parade, live music and many other activities. For more information, visit gaccreedcity.org or follow them on Facebook.

• West Michigan Candle Company will host a grand opening of their new store in Reed City from noon to 8 pm on August 19th. The public is welcome.

• St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Reed City will host a “Back to School” celebration from noon to 4 pm, August 20, at 22275 4 Mile Rd., for K-12 students. The event will include school supplies, backpacks and haircuts.

• The Village of Morley will host Rodeo on the Pond at 7:00 pm, August 20 at 556 6th Street, Morley. The event will include food vendors, raffles and drawings. Garden chairs welcome. No alcohol.

• Granny’s Crafts will host the Sizzling Summer Craft Show from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., August 20, at New Beginnings Church, 139 W. Church Street, Reed City, during the Great American Crossroads Celebration.

• Voca Lyrica will be hosting a citywide rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on August 20 in the Big Rapids City Hall parking lot as part of the Summerfest 2022 celebration in downtown Big Rapids.

• Summerfest 2022 will be held in downtown Big Rapids from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., August 20. The event will feature a car show, live music, inflatables, a cornhole and more. For more information, visit bigrapids.org.

• The Evart Farmers’ Market will host Elvis Tribute artist Jake Slater from 6:30-8:30 p.m., August 20, at the Evart Depot, 200 S. Main St., Evart.

• Sawtooth Wolves MC will host ‘The Original End of Summer Party’ August 25-28 at 3800 19 Mile Rd., Barryton. Doors open Friday noon. Cost is $25 single/$40 couple Thursday through Sunday; $15 single/$25 couple for Saturday only. The event will include games, live music, door prizes, a parade and other activities. • The annual “Pork for a Purpose” benefit will be held Saturday, August 27 at 8700 180th Ave., Stanwood. The event will include auctions, raffles, a cornhole tournament and a pig roast dinner. • Saturdays at the Depot will feature ventriloquist Richard Paul at 7:00 pm, August 27, at the Reed City Depot, 200 N. Chestnut Ave., Reed City. The event is sponsored by the Osceola County Community Foundation as part of the Summer Fun at the Crossroads program.

• The Salvation Army of Big Rapids has opened a Fresh Start Baby Pantry open to families with children under 5 in Mecosta, Osceola, Lake and Newaygo counties. • The Barryton Church of God will be hosting a fundraiser for a car wash and bake sale from 10 am to 2 pm, August 27, at 20244 30th Ave., Barryton.

• The Evart Car Club will host the annual Eight Point Lake Cruise on Friday September 2nd. Runners will gather on N. Industrial Drive at the airport around 4:30 p.m. The cruise starts at 5 p.m.

• The Evart Fire Department is sponsoring a 6:00-8:00 p.m. Emergency Medical Response Course, September 8-November 12, with Instructor Lowell Brown, BAS, CCEMT-P, I/C. The cost is $500. The deadline for registration is August 19. For more information or to register, contact [email protected].

• The Evart Farmers’ Market is open from 9 am to 1 pm, Saturdays, until October 8th. Vendors or food trucks interested in being part of the Farmers Market email [email protected] or call 231-250-8768.

• Liberty Baptist Church in Reed City hosts “Praise in the Park” at 6 pm Sunday nights at the Bandshell in Rambadt Park through September 4. Admission is free and will include a cooked meal/potluck.

• The Big Rapids Downtown Development Association will host the “Pocket Park Music Series” from noon to 2 p.m., Friday through September 2, at Pocket Park in downtown Big Rapids, next to Raven Brew and Barbeque. It’s a free concert. For more information, visit bigrapids.org.

• The Reed City Heritage Museum is open 1-4 pm Friday-Tuesday at 138 W. Slosson Ave., Reed City. Free entry. Groups are welcome.

• The Crossroads Quilt Guild meets at 6:30 p.m., at the Church of the Nazarene, 5300 220th Ave., Reed City, on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Interested persons are welcome without being members. All levels of quilting are encouraged to attend.

• The Reed City Pantry will be open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 831 S. Chestnut St., Reed City. Clients can come once a month for 12 months.

• The Reed City Senior Center at 219 E. Todd Ave., hosts the following events each week: Wednesdays at noon – Fun Bingo; Thursdays at noon-Euchre; Friday – doors open at 10:30 a.m., Early Bird at 11:30 a.m. and Regular Bingo at noon.
