JCB India Appoints Umesh Hota as Executive Vice President of Human Resources

New Delhi: JCB India Ltd, a leading manufacturer of earthmoving and construction equipment, has appointed Umesh Hota as Executive Vice President, in charge of Human Resources, Administration and Social Responsibility of the company.

Prior to joining JCB India, Hota worked with Aditya Birla Group in managerial positions in two of their manufacturing companies Hindalco Industries Ltd and UltraTech Cement Ltd.

A veteran of the HR industry, Hota has also worked with Bausch + Lomb and Reckitt Benckiser, among others in various leadership roles in HR.

Umesh holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management, Kolkata, and a law degree from Sambalpur University in Odisha. He has over three decades of diverse experience in various facets of HR operations.

“In his previous assignments, Umesh has proven his courage in leading change, managing growth in various mergers and acquisitions as well as building vibrant organizations while moving big projects to operations. At UltraTech Cement, he is credited with driving cultural transformation and building a smart / agile organization in the big three cement asset acquisitions Jaypee, Binani and Century, which have been examples to emulate, ”the company said in a statement.

JCB is a privately held UK engineering and manufacturing company. It has manufacturing plants on four continents. JCB has been present in India since 1979 and manufactures earthmoving and construction equipment from five factories in the country. The company employs 5,000 people in its Indian operations.
