Galena Mining Ltd (ASX: G1A) achieved construction progress of 83% as of August 31, 2022 at its Abra base metal mine, located in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia.

Looking ahead, Abra’s overall progress remains in line with project completion, with first commercial production expected in the March quarter of 2023.

Operational readiness activities continue

Galena Managing Director Tony James said: “With the flotation cells and the regrind mill landing in Australia, all of the key equipment required for the Abra processing facility has arrived.

“On-site construction activity has now exceeded 83%, with the focus at the factory on the installation of the remaining mechanical elements, piping and electrical installation.

“Operational readiness activities continue as the site prepares to start some dry commissioning activities.

“It’s also nice to see that the TSF earthworks are nearing completion and the power station is 94% complete.”
