Elite Garages to move into former ATS site in downtown Newport

The former empty ATS site on South Street in Newport will be given a new lease of life.

The centrally located site across from Morrison never reopened as ATS after the first lockdown.

The County Press can reveal that the site has been sold and will reopen as Elite Garages in 2022.

Elite Garages is family owned and Newport will be its 16th garage workshop – and the first on the Isle of Wight.

Elite Garages said they see “huge potential” in the Newport site and the team is excited to expand to the island.

A spokesperson said, “Elite Garages is proud to be a local garage that offers the personal touch you expect from a family business.

“We have a very loyal customer base in all of our branches, with customers who keep coming back for our competitive prices and friendly, trustworthy service.

“We look forward to renovating the site for an opening in 2022.

Elite Garages Newport will offer a range of automotive services including technical checks, tires, maintenance, free checks, batteries, exhausts, clutches, wheel alignment, brakes and all other mechanical repairs.

“The site will also offer maintenance for electric vehicles.

ATS retained its Spithead Industrial Estate site in Lake.
