Daimler: eCanter on display for the first time in the United Arab Emirates


Kawasaki, JapanMitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Company (MFTBC; head office: Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture; President and CEO: Hartmut Schick) is pleased to announce that ENOC Link, the digital mobile fuel delivery service for businesses in the United Arab Emirates, presented the eCanter at the 23rd Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Show (WETEX) and Dubai Solar Show, October 5 to 7, 2021.

It is the first time that the pioneer all-electric truck has been presented to the public in the United Arab Emirates.

ENOC Link provides digitally managed and controllable deliveries of diesel, biodiesel and gasoline for businesses in the United Arab Emirates to help with operational optimizations. The service is supervised by the ENOC Group (UAE National Oil Company), a company wholly owned by Government of Dubai. ENOC Link has teamed up with Daimler Trucks Regional Center Daimler Commercial Vehicles MENA (DCV MENA) to present the nearly silent and local emission free eCanter with specially prepared features such as an aluminum tank truck body that is 30% lighter than normal steel tanker trucks, providing more efficiency. The show vehicle was also equipped with an advanced metering solution that connects to the cloud for instant and continuous data transmission.

WETEX and the Dubai Solar Show are organized by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) in support of the Emirate’s vision of building a sustainable future through innovation. Each year, the event offers global companies the opportunity to present the latest information and advancements in the fields of energy, natural resources and sustainability. From 2010, the United Arab Emirates launched a national program known as Vision 2021, under which the government lobbied for the creation of a green economy. Since the creation of the Vision, the United Arab Emirates has continuously invested in urban planning, transport and environmentally friendly technology. DEWA has installed more than 300 electric vehicle charging stations in the emirate of Dubai, while innovative programs such as hassle-free charging with QR code have prompted drivers to consider electric solutions.

After its presentation at WETEX and the Dubai Solar Show, the ENOC Group will also exhibit the eCanter at Gas station of the Future created for Expo 2020 Dubai. About the eCanter

The eCanter is the mass-produced all-electric truck developed by MFTBC as a solution to urban environmental problems such as noise, exhaust fumes and CO2 emissions. The eCanter, which belongs to the gross vehicle weight class of 7.5 tonnes, provides a range of approximately 100 kilometers per charge. The electric drive system has a motor (maximum power: 135 kW; maximum torque: 390 Nm) and six high-voltage lithium-ion battery packs (370 V, 13.5 kWh).
