The Texas Department of Transportation announced its planned highway projects for the week. In a press release issued on Friday, the department warned drivers in the area of places where they can expect construction delays and possible detours.

“These hours are subject to change due to weather conditions, equipment failure or other unforeseen problems,” the statement said. “Motorists are advised to remain vigilant and pay close attention to all signs, barricades and traffic controls, and reduce their speed when approaching and through work areas. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems. “

The following projects are planned for this week:

US 75, Grayson County: from FM 1417 to SH 91 (Texoma Parkway). Watch for shoulder closures and lane changes on US 75 main tracks north and south between SH 91 and FM 1417 as crews work on the construction of new main tracks, bridges and retaining walls. Watch for lane closures on service roads between FM 1417 and SH 91. The northbound Washington Street exit ramp is currently closed and exit traffic is directed to use the Houston / Lamar Street exit ramp. The southbound exit ramp for Park Avenue is currently closed and exit traffic is directed to use the Lamar / Houston Street exit. A reduced speed limit of 60 mph on America’s 75 main tracks has been set for this construction project.

North and southbound US 75 main lane traffic has been transferred to the existing main road near West Staples Street and is reverting to the existing main lanes near West Cherry Street. This operation will rebuild the proposed 75 US main tracks and the bridge over Center Street. Within this area, US 75 frontage road traffic has been reduced to a single lane of traffic, while US 75 main lane traffic still maintains two lanes of traffic. Main track traffic and road traffic are separated by concrete barriers.

All eastbound and westbound lanes of Center Street under US 75 are closed to traffic. To take a detour, eastbound traffic on Center Street will turn right on the front road US 75 southbound, turn left on Park Avenue, and turn left on the front road US 75 northbound to return to the Center Street. Westbound traffic will turn right on front road US 75 northbound, turn left on Houston Street, and turn left on front road US 75 southbound to return to Center Street.

Main track traffic and road traffic are separated by concrete barriers.
